Due to the rapid spread of COVID-19, a sense of panic and uncertainty has become a constant in our everyday lives. While there is no denying the seriousness of what has now become a global pandemic, the same feeling of uncertainty should not apply to your legal matters. While we remain fully open and functional, our physical office is closed until further notice due to current public health recommendations. This means that all staff communications and communication with our clients and colleagues will be conducted via video conference or by phone. This includes in-person meetings and conferences that had previously been scheduled. We are fortunate enough to have the resources and infrastructure in place for the entirety of our staff to work from home. We are working diligently to keep your personal injury matters moving forward in a timely manner. It is important to note that there may be delays that are out of our control. This may apply to court dates, discoveries, in-person mediations, and delays in receiving documentation. We will use every tool at our disposal to minimize the effect of any possible delay. It should be noted that all criminal, family, and civil matters scheduled to be heard on or after Tuesday, March 17th, 2020, have been adjourned. This does include any and all telephone and videoconference appearances scheduled before March 17th, 2020. As of now, there is no set date as to when court services will resume. While we at Gosai Law will be working remotely, we can assure you that your personal information is stored using the same standard of security as our physical location. We would like to stress that any phone conversations, video conferencing, and communication of any kind is 100% confidential, and will be handled with the utmost professionalism, as is always demonstrated by our firm.
Yes, you will still be receiving your Income Replacement Benefit or your Long-Term Disability Benefit. There has been no change regarding these benefits. If for any reason you do not receive your cheque in the mail, please contact us immediately. We will be in contact with the insurer, and will help arrange for you to switch your method of receiving payment to direct deposit.
It’s important to speak to your medical provider in regards to whether or not it is possible for you to continue to attend your appointments. While they may not be offering physical services unless they are deemed an emergency, many medical clinics may be offering digital consultations and appointments. Please continue to stay true to the instructions you have been given, and practice your rehabilitation at home if you have been advised to do so.
Absolutely! We are happy to accept new clients. Whether your injury occurred now or in the past two years, we will assist you in getting your claim started. All consultations and further meetings will be conducted via video and/or phone conference until further notice.
