Research shows just how important it is to wear a helmet while riding a bicycle, regardless of age or experience level. It is especially crucial in larger cities that are often without designated bike lanes where cyclists are at a higher risk of being involved in an accident. 

Properly fitted helmets are specifically designed to protect the head and brain from impact in the event of an accident and can reduce the risk of a serious head injury by up to 85%. Four out of five brain injuries could be prevented if every cyclist wore a helmet.
